Teaching activites:

François Vallée has teaching activities in the field of new energy sources and their impact on power systems but also on the study of the transient behavior of electrical machines , including activities at the Master’s level. More generally, he also teaches power networks (steady-state operation, disturbed operation and protections).

Research description:

​

François Vallée has research activities in the field of electrical networks and, more particularly, in probabilistic techniques for a technical and economic evaluation of investments to be brought to the system. He is also involved in several projects mainly funded by the Walloon region among which GREDOR (development of aid-decision tools to ease the integration of renewables in distribution systems), SMARTWATER (study of the profitability of using old mines as hydroelectric stations), E-CLOUD (study of the economic interest of multi-access microgrids)… François Vallée is also a member of the Royal Belgian Society of Electricians. He supervises 7 PhD students including 6 in his preferred theme of research. He is the author or co-author of thirty referenced journal publications and over 80 articles in international conference proceedings. Finally, he has been part of several PhD juries or follow-up committees outside the University of Mons.
